Audi is recalling 124,800 cars because of faulty camshaft regulators

Economic Daily – China Economic Net, February 26 (reporter Guo Yue) Today, FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. decided to recall a total of 124,800 imported and domestic Audi cars from February 26, 2021.

Specifically, among them, 118,074 domestic A6L 2.0T vehicles and 6724 imported A6 Avant 2.0T and A7 2.0T vehicles are recalled because, under specific working conditions when the engine is running at idle, the learning function of the camshaft regulator drive algorithm in the engine control unit may lead to the result deviation. The camshaft is not adjusted to the correct position, which may lead to unstable engine operation, and the engine may stop running in extreme cases, which is a safety hazard.

In response, FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will entrust Audi authorized dealers to upgrade the engine control unit software for vehicles covered by the recall free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
